JOHN DELANEY BIOGRAPHY

John E. DeLaney, a native Louisvillian, grew up surrounded by the activity of the family business. His family owned DeLaney’s Fine Furniture, the largest locally owned furniture store in Louisville. John learned first hand the values of dedicated customer service and professionalism.

John attended the Kentucky Military Institute and graduated from Waggoner HS in 1964, and then continued his education at the University of Louisville, where he majored in Finance and Economics. In 1970 he graduated with a BSC in Business.

John has worked in insurance since 1971 where he started with Sun Life of Canada. From 1973 to present John has represented the largest multiple line insurance companies in North America. In 1974 John received the prestigious Charted Life Underwriter designation (CLU) from the American College of Underwriters. This title is comparable to an accountant receiving the title of CPA.

John has 5 children, one of whom has followed in his footsteps and operates his own independent insurance agency in Louisville, Kentucky. John maintains an active lifestyle and enjoys spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle, and playing tennis. John attends Epiphany Church and is actively involved in charitable work.

John has gained valuable knowledge of the insurance industry throughout his 36 years of experience.
